i raced for the company's team for the race and they let me ride it. It's one of their demo bikes, so yes, it is borrowed. Gonna get one eventually, but all black.

they are chill and fun. They are as competitive as you make them. Kids race them on dj bikes, so it isn't a big deal. I just do them for fun. they are really short as far as xc races go.

The highschool races are alot of fun, but O-cups are where its at.

man, i've only herd stories of how great this race was. I was too young to have ever raced in it though. too bad they still don't have 24 hour races at hardwood.

maybe your right.. I just thought, if a 14 year old kid bent them, then they can't be the strongest bars around. But I guess since 14 year olds are typically bigger than the average riding population, then the bars are perfectly strong for anyone.

nice, it was a fun course, but the race was way to short. I wish we did 3 laps of that course.

add tax to $320 and you are at $350. Get a X9 as a replacement. Shifting percision is the same, the only difference is weight and the price. Since it is for your dh bike, i am sure you are not concerned about weight.

actually carbon has more stength then aluminum if it is flexing and being pulled. But as soon as you crack carbon or hit it off something it breaks like a thooth pick.

man, I had FSA carbon team cranks on my old xc race bike and I could feel them flex when hammering up hills. I wouldn't feel safe using those for street riding :S

 . Don't worry about the price though... For your dad, check out Norco, Rocky Mountain, and Gary Fisher. They all make really nice xc bikes. I raced a Norco for two seasons and never had a problem. I will let you know how the rocky holds up as I havn't had the bike for more than a week, but so far it is AMAZING!!! |
